A funny moment in history is an event that falls into a category and/or makes you laugh when it happens, even if it was not intended to do so. Humor is a powerful tool and humor can be used for various purposes as well. One laughing event in history would be the several funny moments that takes place during the Watergate Scandal. The comedic events of Watergate also helped make this scandal interesting to us as individuals, who viewed the events on television or Internet with such fascination because we just had to know how everything was going to end up.
• Watergate: is a scandal that involves the President of the United States Richard Nixon, his administration and his campaign. He was accused of crimes such as abuse of power and obstruction of justice. This led to his resignation during the summer of 1974, bringing about Presidential impeachment. The investigation was led by two prominent journalists, Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward, who were working for the Washington Post. This shocking and serious situation suddenly became very funny in later events which took place during this scandal. This helped make this situation which was once so serious much more interesting to follow because now it seemed more entertaining than ever before.

One event that was very funny was when President Richard Nixon used the private bathroom and refused to flush because it could record the sound for anyone interested in spying on him. President Nixon also hid many of his papers in his desk which were not supposed to be there, but were discovered by staff members who were cleaning out his desk.
• Many different events take place during the beginning of this scandal that are all very funny to us since we watch them on television or Internet. A main event that took place during the Watergate scandal was when President Nixon made up his own secret code. He created a new code of letters to keep people from knowing what he was talking about. He decided to have his staff call people out of turn at meetings which they could not understand what they were talking about. This event turned into a very funny and entertaining moment because it was so ridiculous and strange, but most importantly, the president did not want anyone to find out what he was doing.
