Inspiration is an elusive thing. It could happen to anyone at any time, or it may not come to those who are waiting for it. But what exactly is inspiration?
Well, in general terms inspiration can be a sudden, inexplicable surge of creativity that allows one to create something new. Inspiration can also be seen as having a feeling of energy or vigor when you face your creative pursuits with gusto and enthusiasm. Yet, the third definition is the one that inspired me to write this article today. The third definition is a little more difficult to define.
It is an intangible but strong emotion that helps drive you toward a specific goal. It can be felt as a mental idea of a challenge, or an emotion that goes hand in hand with what you are doing. It can be a feeling of determination or a personal need for something different. This third definition can also involve not really knowing how it happened or what inspired it – it just happens and you are happy about it for many reasons: the ideas, the feelings, or even the collaboration with those around you (and them being excited about your work).
